I am Ada Ispas, a psychologist practicing in San Ramon, California. I have a doctoral degree in Psychology from John F. Kennedy University, CA, licensed since 2011. I also earned an MD degree from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest Romania. After moving to US in 2001 I pursued a career in psychology. I have experience working with all age groups with emphasize on children and adolescents. I previously worked at A Step Forward in Concord California where I saw predominantly minors, adults and families affected by trauma, especially sexual abuse. I am currently a full-time clinician at Kaiser Permanente leading the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for adolescents in Pleasanton, California.


I have experience in individual, family, and group therapy as well as in teen intensive outpatient treatment and crisis intervention. My focus is helping people with symptoms of depression and anxiety, stress management, trauma, interpersonal challenges, parenting and attachment trauma. I use predominantly cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamicaly informed insight therapy, trauma focused CBT, attachment theory, mindfulness, emotional intelligence training and a concrete skill building approach. I have experience working with family reconciliation as well.
